Calgary Plant Manager - Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Plant Manager to lead a specialized molded‑foam facility in Calgary. You will be responsible for driving production, supporting growth, and embedding continuous‑improvement practices in a fast‑paced, agile environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of approximately 20 employees, fostering a positive and highly engaged workplace culture.
• Develop and execute manufacturing initiatives, production systems, and long‑term strategic plans across the plant.
• Integrate Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen tools to optimise processes, conduct time studies and improve production standards.
• Manage staffing levels, production schedules and resource allocation to meet demand with urgency.
• Maintain open communication with vendors, customers, internal departments and cross‑functional teams.

Required profile

• 8+ years of management experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within molded foam or polyurethane production.
• Proven ability to coach, mentor and develop team members at all levels.
• Strong analytical mindset with a detail‑oriented approach to problem‑solving and risk‑taking.
• University degree in Engineering, Business Management or a related field is preferred.

Required skills

• Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and Kaizen methodologies.
• Inventory and production management.
• Familiarity with polyurethane chemicals and molded‑foam formulation.
• Workforce planning and scheduling.
