Cabinetmaker – Skilled Woodworking Position

About the role

We are seeking a skilled cabinetmaker to join our workshop in Québec. The role involves crafting high‑quality wooden furniture and cabinetry using both powered and hand tools. You will work early mornings in a clean, safety‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate woodworking machines such as power saws, jointers, mortisers and shapers to cut, shape and form components.
• Shape surfaces and edges of wood workpieces using hand tools like planes, chisels and wood files.
• Study plans, specifications or drawings to produce accurate articles.
• Trim joints, fit parts and sub‑assemblies together, reinforce joints and ensure proper alignment.
• Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain, polish or laminated plastics to finished products.
• Apply varnish, veneer, stain or polish to achieve the desired finish.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment throughout the shift.

Required profile

• 1 to less than 2 years of experience in cabinetmaking or related woodworking.
• Availability to work early‑morning shifts.

Required skills

• Power saw operation.
• Jointers, mortisers and shapers handling.
• Hand plane, chisel and wood file use.
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings.
• Veneer, stain and polish application.
• Laminated plastics preparation and application.
