Cabinetmaker Apprentice – Millwork Shop

About the role

Join Lobello Manufacturing Ltd. as a Cabinetmaker Apprentice in our Calgary millwork shop. You will learn the trade by working with experienced craftsmen in a fast‑paced, commercial environment.

Key responsibilities

• Operate woodworking machines such as power saws, jointers, mortisers and shapers to cut, shape and form components.
• Shape surfaces and edges of wood workpieces using hand tools like planes, chisels and wood files.
• Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain or polish to finish products.
• Prepare and apply laminated plastics where required.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to safety protocols.

Required profile

• Manual dexterity and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 23 kg (50 lb).
• Reliability, punctuality and a team‑oriented attitude.
• Willingness to wear steel‑toed safety boots and follow safety guidelines.

Required skills

• Operation of power saws, jointers, mortisers and shapers.
• Proficiency with hand planes, chisels and wood files.
• Sanding techniques and wood finishing (veneer, stain, polish).
• Preparation and application of laminated plastics.
