Buyer – Procurement & Supply Chain

About the role

Alstom is looking for a proactive Buyer to join its procurement team in Canada. You will apply your sourcing expertise to support high‑speed trains, metros, trams and related rail projects, working closely with engineering, project management and supply‑chain colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Lead supplier negotiations to secure optimal cost, quality and delivery outcomes.
• Build and maintain strong, long‑term supplier relationships.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align sourcing activities with project requirements.
• Set up and manage full supplier selection processes.
• Identify, assess and mitigate risks across the supply chain.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement or supply‑chain roles.
• Fluent in French and English.
• Strong communication, resilience and adaptability in a fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team setting.

Required skills

• Familiarity with contract negotiation and cost analysis.
• Experience in supplier selection and risk mitigation.
