Business Analyst – Public Works Work Order System

About the role

The City of Woodstock is seeking a Business Analyst to manage and improve its Public Works work order management system. This role supports maintenance, asset management, scheduling, and service delivery across the municipality.

Key responsibilities

• Administer, configure, and continuously improve the Cartegraph work order system and related applications.
• Document business requirements, map processes, and develop system workflows for maintenance, asset management, and preventive maintenance.
• Coordinate with IT and external partners for account creation, permissions, testing, updates, and integrations (GIS, weather, financial, fleet, mobile).
• Maintain data quality, develop SOPs, and produce operational reports, dashboards, and KPIs for management decision‑making.
• Provide functional and technical support, training, and user acceptance testing for system enhancements.

Required profile

• Diploma in GIS, Business, IT or related field.
• Minimum three years of progressive experience in business analysis, systems administration, work order or asset management, or GIS.
• Strong analytical, research, project planning and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• GIS software knowledge, especially ESRI ArcGIS.
• SQL or other database technologies.
• Experience with APIs, system integrations, GPS/GIS applications, and data synchronization.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
