Bus and Truck Mechanic – Full‑Time Permanent

About the role

Gerry's Truck Centre Ltd. is seeking a skilled Bus and Truck Mechanic to join its garage team on a permanent, full‑time basis. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of commercial transport vehicles and truck‑trailer systems.

Key responsibilities

• Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of commercial truck and bus systems, following work orders and supervisor guidance.
• Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults, perform road tests, and verify repairs meet manufacturer specifications.
• Estimate parts and labour costs, complete service reports, and document all work performed.
• Perform scheduled maintenance, including engine overhaul, brake service, HVAC checks, and drivetrain inspections.
• Collaborate with supervisors to decide on repair versus replacement decisions and discuss findings.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workshop environment while adhering to safety protocols.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of experience working on medium/heavy vehicles, trucks, or buses.
• Valid driver’s licence and clean driving record.
• Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and ability to stand for extended periods.
• Dependable team player with excellent oral and written communication skills.
