Building Maintenance Worker

About the role

Bestway Tire & Automotive Centre is seeking a reliable Building Maintenance Worker to keep its facilities clean, safe, and fully operational. You will work onsite in Edmonton, performing a variety of cleaning, repair, and upkeep tasks with minimal supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, scrub, and wax hallways, floors, and stairs.
• Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove debris.
• Empty trash cans and waste containers.
• Wash windows, interior walls, and ceilings.
• Perform minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems; coordinate major repairs with tradespersons.
• Maintain appliances, conduct safety and security checks, and assist skilled tradespersons.
• Show apartments and offices to prospective tenants and supervise other workers.
• Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies.
• Carry out routine maintenance such as painting, drywall repair, and snow/ice removal.
• Water plants, tend lawns or gardens, and clean/disinfect bathrooms.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation.
• 7 months to less than 1 year of relevant experience.
• Dependable, organized, and reliable.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Flexible, initiative‑taking, and good judgment.
