Blaster – Civil Construction Projects

About the role

We are seeking a Blaster to join our civil construction team in the Okanagan, supporting roadbuilding and highway projects across British Columbia. The role involves preparing blasting plans, loading explosives and detonating blasts while working closely with site crews to ensure safety and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Work safely in accordance with company and WorkSafeBC standards.
• Collaborate with site supervisors and crews to plan and execute blasts.
• Prepare detailed blasting plans.
• Load explosives and detonate blasts.
• Travel to project sites across BC and work outdoors in varying terrain and weather conditions.

Required profile

• Experience in blasting, preferably in residential or urban settings.
• Strong work ethic, positive attitude and ability to work effectively in a team.
• Flexibility to work varied hours based on job requirements.
• Experience in heavy civil construction.
• Valid BC Mines Blasting Ticket and WorkSafeBC Urban Blasting Ticket.
• Current TDG ticket and a clean Canadian driver’s licence.

Required skills

• Knowledge of blasting shearline and production techniques.
• Understanding of WorkSafeBC requirements for blasting.
• Proficiency with explosives handling and detonation procedures.
