Barista

About the role

BAKE49 is looking for an enthusiastic Barista to join its busy coffee shop in Vancouver. You will work in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused environment, preparing drinks and simple food items while ensuring a clean and welcoming space for guests.

Key responsibilities

• Take customer orders, operate the POS system and prepare coffee and simple food items.
• Clear and clean tables, trays, chairs and kitchen work surfaces.
• Operate dishwashers, wash glassware and flatware, and handle kitchen garbage.
• Package take‑out orders, portion and wrap foods, and maintain inventory records.
• Receive, unpack and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers and cupboards.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, cupboards, storage areas and appliances.
• Handle and store cleaning products safely.

Required profile

• 1‑2 years of experience in a coffee shop or similar food‑service setting.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 13.5 kg (30 lb).
• Comfort working under pressure in a repetitive, fast‑paced environment.
• Client‑focused attitude with strong interpersonal skills.
• Reliability, teamwork, multitasking ability and a positive attitude.
