Backend Software Engineer (Node.js/TypeScript)

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer to join AICamp’s remote team. You will build, scale, and optimise backend services in the TypeScript ecosystem while integrating generative AI capabilities into production systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend APIs using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers to deliver performant Next.js applications.
• Implement integrations with AI models, external APIs, and database systems.
• Develop and manage GenAI workflows such as retrieval‑augmented generation, prompt evaluation, fine‑tuning, and agent orchestration.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, deployment, and monitoring processes.

Required profile

• 3+ years of hands‑on experience with Node.js, Next.js and TypeScript.
• Comfortable working in fast‑moving startup environments.
• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases and API‑driven development.
• Experience with modern development practices including testing, CI/CD and cloud deployments (AWS, GCP or Azure).
• Interest or experience in applying GenAI workflows to real‑world applications.
