Back End Software Developer II

About the role

Pixieset is looking for a Back End Software Developer to help build and evolve its platform that serves over 1.6 million photographers and creative professionals worldwide. As part of the Platform team you will focus on backend systems, creating core services, APIs, and infrastructure that power the expanding product suite.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement product features across the full stack with a focus on PHP (Laravel).
• Write clean, efficient, well‑documented code to support scalable backend systems and user‑facing functionality.
• Deliver improvements ranging from user‑facing enhancements to backend optimizations across multiple codebases.
• Help maintain and improve Pixieset’s product architecture, APIs, databases, and infrastructure.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and solve complex technical challenges.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience building scalable backend services and infrastructure.
• Proficiency with PHP and its frameworks (Laravel, Yii, or Symfony).
• Experience with JavaScript, preferably ES6 and Webpack.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Understanding of data structures, algorithms, HTTP, RESTful services, Docker, and cloud platforms like AWS.
