Back End Developer

About the role

Parts Avatar, a leading e‑commerce provider of automotive aftermarket parts, is looking for a Back End Developer to strengthen its online platform. You will work on high‑performance services that give customers seamless access to parts information across Canada.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust back‑end applications using Python.
• Implement and optimise PostgreSQL databases for reliable data storage and retrieval.
• Collaborate with product, UI/UX and DevOps teams to define and ship new features.
• Participate in code reviews, enforce best‑practice standards, and ensure code quality.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and improve application performance and reliability.
• Follow Agile processes to manage sprint planning, delivery timelines and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of professional software development experience.
• Eligibility to work in Canada.
• Fluent English (spoken and written); French is a plus.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• PostgreSQL database management.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS).
• Proficiency with Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence.
• Version control using Git.
