AWS Cloud Architect – Remote (Canada)

About the role

We are looking for a senior AWS Cloud Architect to lead our Modernization Acceleration Program (MAP). This remote position focuses on transforming legacy on‑premises workloads into cloud‑native, micro‑service architectures using a code‑first approach.

Key responsibilities

• Define and design cloud‑native target architectures that replace legacy patterns with scalable, resilient, and cost‑optimized solutions.
• Execute modernization pathways within the AWS MAP framework, migrating .NET/SQL Server workloads to PostgreSQL (Aurora) and containerized services on ECS with Fargate.
• Serve as the technical authority for Modernization Readiness Assessments and Experience‑Based Acceleration sessions.
• Standardize all infrastructure deployment using AWS CDK (TypeScript) and create reusable constructs for security, networking, and observability.
• Implement enterprise‑grade CI/CD pipelines with automated security and performance gates.
• Collaborate with the preferred vendor to ensure delivery aligns with architectural standards and mentor internal engineering teams.

Required profile

• 10+ years of IT infrastructure experience, including 4+ years focused on large‑scale AWS modernization.
• Professional AWS Solutions Architect certification (required) and Cloud Modernization Specialist (AWS MAP) certification.
• Outcome‑driven mindset with strong strategic communication skills.
• Code‑first mentality and advocacy for software engineering best practices applied to infrastructure.
