Auto Image Desk Appraiser

About the role

Aviva Canada is seeking an Auto Damage Appraiser (Image Desk Appraiser) for its Calgary office. The role reviews and evaluates electronic repair estimates against company and departmental standards, controls the method and cost of motor vehicle repairs, completes total loss evaluations and carries out remote appraisals.

Key responsibilities

• Review and evaluate electronic repair estimates in line with company and departmental standards and guidelines.
• Control the method and cost of motor vehicle repairs using established industry regulatory practices and corporate guidelines.
• Complete total loss evaluations through market and Autosource searches.
• Complete remote appraisals.
• Work as a team player and lead by example in problem solving, keeping the end customer experience as a key objective.

Required profile

• Auto estimating experience of at least 3-5 years; multi-provincial experience is an asset.
• Strong experience and knowledge of motor vehicle repairs, and prior estimating experience.
• Good technical aptitude with databases and systems.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and excellent PC skills.
• A genuine curiosity and inquisitive mindset focused on improving the experience for customers and colleagues.
