Associate Lawyer – Family & Litigation

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Family Lawyer and Litigator to join our well‑established firm in Coquitlam. The successful candidate will manage a robust book of business, provide high‑quality legal services, and work toward a clear partnership track within a collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage family law and litigation matters from intake through resolution, including court appearances, mediations, arbitrations and negotiations.
• Draft pleadings, briefs, legal documents and correspondence.
• Conduct legal research and develop case strategies.
• Advise clients on complex family, civil, commercial or estate litigation issues.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships to sustain and grow the practice.
• Mentor junior lawyers and contribute to firm development initiatives.
• Participate in business development, networking and community engagement activities.

Required profile

• Member of the Law Society of British Columbia (or eligible without articling).
• Minimum 7 years of experience in family law and litigation with an established book of business.
• Proven advocacy, negotiation and client‑relationship skills.
• Experience handling complex family, civil, commercial or estate litigation matters.
• Ability to mentor junior lawyers and support firm growth.
