Assistant/Associate Professor (Clinical) – Obstetrics & Gynecology

About the role

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at McGill University seeks a full‑time Contract Academic Staff member at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor (Clinical) based at the Jewish General Hospital. The appointment is for three years, renewable, and does not carry tenure eligibility.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clinical obstetric and gynecologic care, including obstetrical call covering approximately 150 deliveries per year and participation in minimally invasive surgery (MIS) call.
• Deliver high‑quality clinical teaching and supervision to undergraduate medical students, OBGYN residents, family medicine residents, and fellows.
• Participate actively in departmental meetings, rounds, and academic committees, contributing to research, curriculum development, and service activities.
• Support the department’s mission of equity, diversity, and inclusion through inclusive practice and mentorship.

Required profile

• MD degree (or equivalent) with eligibility for licensure in Quebec.
• Completion of at least one year of fellowship training in Obstetrics and Gynecology and eligibility for certification by the Collège des médecins du Québec or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
• Master’s degree or additional postgraduate training is preferred but not required.
• Bilingual proficiency in French and English preferred, or a commitment to acquire the necessary language skills for practice in Quebec.
