Assistant Transportation Manager

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Transportation Manager to support daily operations of our trucking and transportation division. The role involves coordinating schedules, supervising staff, and ensuring compliance with all transport regulations while maintaining high service standards.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate and monitor daily operations and department performance.
• Plan, organize, and adjust daily schedules, policies, and dispatching of vehicles and goods.
• Prepare operational reports for senior management.
• Recruit, supervise, and develop a team of more than 20 staff members.
• Manage budgets, finances, and negotiate service contracts and preferential rates.
• Arrange shipping documentation, track shipments, and record cargo details, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption.
• Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and implement policies for the storage and movement of goods.
• Oversee inventory management and set transportation service rates while monitoring revenue.

Required profile

• 3 to 5 years of experience in fleet or transportation management.
• Experience supervising a team of 20+ employees.
• Basic security clearance, criminal record check, and drug test.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
• Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, analytical thinking, and strong ethical values.

Required skills

• Knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance standards.
• Familiarity with fleet management and logistics processes.
