About the role
Join the Building Operations team at Pomerleau Construction as an Assistant Superintendent on the WAHA Redevelopment Project, a $1.8 billion initiative delivering a state‑of‑the‑art hospital in Moosonee, Ontario. You will work closely with the project manager, on‑site crews, and trade partners to ensure the project meets schedule, quality, and safety expectations.
Key responsibilities
- Lead Health, Safety and Environmental protection on‑site and enforce project‑specific safety standards.
- Coordinate material deliveries, verify compliance with the Quality Program, and maintain accurate documentation.
- Assess and manage on‑site manpower requirements, collaborating with trade partners and consultants.
- Support the construction schedule, ensuring milestones and completion dates are met.
- Apply problem‑solving skills to develop innovative approaches that improve team and operational effectiveness.
- Partner with the Project Manager on site start‑up activities and schedule coordination.
- Oversee workforce training, ensuring all certifications and training remain current.
- Maintain site inventory, work with Logistics to ensure accuracy, and manage wrap‑up activities.
Required profile
- Minimum 3 years foreman experience or 10+ years in the construction industry.
- Experience on multi‑disciplinary, phased construction projects, including at least one project valued over $40 M CAD.
- Construction‑related certificate, diploma or degree.
- Proven track record of project success and strong team collaboration.
- Deep knowledge of construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, quality and cost control.
- Ability to quickly identify issues, devise solutions, and lead large teams to successful completion.
- Passion for developing, maintaining and executing project schedules.
