Assistant Superintendent – Multi‑Family Residential

About the role

Axiom Builders is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support the Superintendent and project team on multi‑family residential sites in Calgary. You will help coordinate daily site activities, ensure safety and quality standards, and assist in planning labour and material requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Superintendent in managing on‑site work to ensure compliance with construction drawings and specifications.
• Support contract administration, including subcontracts, purchase orders, site instructions and change notices.
• Identify design deficiencies, schedule interruptions or other project issues and collaborate with the Project Manager to resolve them.
• Monitor subcontractor performance regarding safety, scope of work and schedule adherence.
• Ensure sufficient labour resources are available to meet safety, schedule and quality objectives.
• Maintain daily field reports, safety inspections, schedule updates and other construction documentation.
• Enforce company safety policies for all employees, subcontractors and contractors.

Required profile

• 4‑5 years of experience on multi‑family residential projects, preferably as an Assistant Superintendent or lead‑hand.
• Background as a carpenter, framer or similar trade is an asset.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications and safety standards.
• Ability to communicate confidently with stakeholders and work collaboratively.
