Assistant Site Superintendent

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Assistant Site Superintendent to support the delivery of low‑rise residential projects, including single‑detached homes and townhouses, in the Cobourg, ON area. This position offers hands‑on site experience and direct interaction with homeowners, ideal for someone looking to grow within a reputable residential builder.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Site Superintendent with day‑to‑day site operations.
• Schedule and coordinate trades, deliveries, and inspections.
• Perform quality‑control checks throughout construction.
• Manage handyman crews for pre‑PDI preparation, deficiency repairs, and Tarion‑related work.
• Coordinate occupancy inspections and ensure readiness for approvals.
• Handle key turnover and possession‑related tasks.
• Conduct Pre‑Delivery Inspections (PDI) with homeowners.
• Support Tarion customer service, tracking deficiencies and follow‑ups.
• Maintain site cleanliness, safety, and organization.
• Assist with documentation, checklists, and reporting.
• Act as liaison between trades, site supervision, and homeowners.
• Perform other duties as required to ensure successful project delivery.

Required profile

• Experience in low‑rise residential construction (single‑detached or townhouses preferred).
• Previous role as Assistant Site Superintendent, Site Coordinator, or similar.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing and finishing standards.
• Familiarity with Tarion guidelines, PDI, and occupancy processes.
• Excellent communication and customer‑service abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
• Organized, detail‑oriented, and proactive.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation.
• Proficiency with basic construction documentation and digital tools.
