About the role
Our client, a leading groundworks and civil engineering contractor, is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support large‑volume housing projects. The role can be based on construction sites across Sussex or at the Kent office, offering hands‑on experience in a fast‑growing environment.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and measurement of bills of quantities for residential projects.
- Read and interpret construction drawings to verify quantities and specifications.
- Support the management of contract variations and change orders.
- Collaborate with site teams to ensure accurate cost tracking and reporting.
- Help maintain project documentation and assist senior surveyors with cost analysis.
Required profile
- Experience in house‑building or residential construction.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings.
- Familiarity with contract variations and basic cost control concepts.
- Strong willingness to learn and develop quantity surveying skills.
- Adaptable and able to work on multiple sites.
