About the role
The Faculty of Management at the University of British Columbia (Okanagan Campus) seeks a full‑time, tenure‑track Assistant Professor in Finance. The appointment is expected to begin on July 1, 2027, or on a mutually agreed date. The successful candidate will develop a high‑impact research agenda and contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching.
Key responsibilities
- Establish and maintain an active research program with publications in leading finance journals.
- Teach undergraduate and graduate finance courses.
- Supervise Ph.D. students in the Interdisciplinary Graduate Studies program.
- Participate in departmental service, committees, and external outreach.
Required profile
- Near‑completion or completion of a Ph.D. in Finance from an AACSB‑accredited business school.
- Strong research record or clear potential for high‑quality publications in asset pricing, corporate finance, or behavioral finance.
- Demonstrated teaching excellence in finance.
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Required skills
- Empirical research methods relevant to finance.
- Clear communication and interpersonal abilities.
What we offer
- Salary commensurate with qualifications, in the range CAD 150,000–200,000 per year.
