Assistant Professor (Tenure‑Track) in Accounting

About the role

The Faculty of Management at the University of British Columbia Okanagan Campus is seeking two full‑time, tenure‑track Assistant Professors in Accounting. The successful candidates will join a research‑intensive environment, contributing to both undergraduate and graduate programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a high‑impact research agenda in accounting, targeting top‑tier journals and external funding.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in accounting and related subjects.
• Supervise Ph.D. students within the Interdisciplinary Graduate Studies program.
• Participate in departmental service, committees, and outreach activities.

Required profile

• Near‑completion or completed Ph.D. in Accounting from an AACSB‑accredited business school.
• Strong research record or clear potential for publications in high‑quality, peer‑reviewed journals.
• Ability to attract external research funding (e.g., Tri‑Agency, industry partners).
• Demonstrated teaching excellence and effective communication skills.
• Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, and to professional, undergraduate, graduate, and post‑doctoral education.

What we offer

• Competitive salary range of CAD 170,000–220,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
