About the role
Concordia University of Edmonton’s Faculty of Science seeks an enthusiastic Assistant Professor in Information Technology. The successful candidate will join a vibrant department that values research, teaching excellence, and community engagement.
Key responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in IT and Computer Science, covering a broad range of topics.
- Develop and update curricula to reflect emerging technologies and industry needs.
- Maintain an active research agenda, publish in reputable venues, and secure external funding.
- Supervise undergraduate projects, graduate theses, and mentor students.
- Participate in departmental service, committees, and academic administration.
Required profile
- PhD in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field (completed by start date).
- Demonstrated expertise in multiple IT domains and a strong record of scholarly output or a clear research plan.
- Evidence of effective teaching or high potential for delivering quality instruction.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate within an academic environment.
- Willingness to undertake administrative duties.
