Assistant or Associate Professor – Computational Intelligence

About the role

The School of Computing at Queen’s University seeks an Assistant or Associate Professor to join its faculty on a tenure‑track basis, focusing on Computational Intelligence. The appointment is expected to begin on January 1, 2027 and will involve teaching, research, and service within a vibrant, interdisciplinary environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality undergraduate and graduate courses, including curriculum development.
• Develop an independent research program in Computational Intelligence and secure external funding.
• Publish peer‑reviewed research in top venues and supervise graduate students.
• Contribute to departmental, faculty, and university service and community outreach.
• Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines and support student‑centred initiatives.

Required profile

• PhD (or equivalent) completed by the start date.
• Evidence of high‑quality scholarly output and potential for independent research.
• Strong teaching record at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and to the principles of Indigenization, equity, diversity, inclusion, anti‑racism, and accessibility (I‑EDIA).
