Assistant Manager – Restaurant Operations

About the role

We are seeking a full-time Assistant Manager to join our Shelbourne location in Victoria. Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, you will help oversee daily operations, ensure compliance with A&W standards and local regulations, and maintain a high level of guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Manager in balancing food quality, speed of service, guest experience and cost control.
• Assist with reviewing weekly P&L statements, managing food, labour and operational expenses.
• Maintain operational standards, conduct regular reviews and drive improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC, public health and Employment Standards Act requirements.
• Help schedule staff, oversee shift deployment and coordinate equipment maintenance.
• Recruit, train and mentor hourly staff; address performance issues and support leadership development.
• Participate in health & safety meetings, document incidents and follow up on corrective actions.
• Assist with inventory control and period‑end accounting tasks.

Required profile

• Secondary School Certificate or equivalent.
• Experience in a restaurant supervisory or management role is an asset.
• Fluent in English.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week on site.
