Assistant Director of Care

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to lead nursing, quality, and resident care in a purpose‑driven long‑term care environment in Toronto. Reporting to the Director of Care, you will ensure exceptional, compassionate care while meeting regulatory and clinical standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership to the Nursing Department and oversee resident care plans, multidisciplinary conferences, and mandatory nursing programs.
• Lead the Nursing Quality Improvement program, conduct audits, develop the Quality Improvement Plan, and monitor CMI documentation.
• Oversee the Infection Prevention and Control program, including surveillance, education, and outbreak management.
• Partner with the Pharmacist on medication management, ensuring safe administration, storage, and disposal.
• Lead, coach, and support nursing staff, manage schedules, recruitment, onboarding, and performance reviews.

Required profile

• Current RN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario and medication certification.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in geriatric, long‑term care, or rehabilitation settings.
• Leadership or supervisory experience, strong understanding of resident‑centered care, and ability to work flexible hours.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
