Assistant Department Manager – Deli (Full‑Time, Day Shift)

About the role

Join Maxi in Bathurst as an Assistant Department Manager for the Deli section. You will help shape the in‑store experience, lead a team, and ensure customers receive excellent service during day shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and empower team members to improve efficiency, engagement and retention.
• Maintain merchandising and operational standards in the Deli department.
• Be accountable for financial objectives and store performance.
• Identify and recruit talented individuals to strengthen the team.
• Build and lead diverse teams that foster inclusiveness and belonging.

Required profile

• Resourceful and courteous when resolving customer inquiries.
• Motivated to learn new things and deliver positive customer service.
• Flexible to work days, evenings and weekends as needed.
• Physically able to move up to 50 lb and stay mobile throughout the shift.
• Passionate people‑leader with a consistent record of delighting customers.
• Strong interpersonal skills and adaptability in a fast‑paced environment.
• Retail experience is an asset.
