Arena Operator – Whitney Forum

About the role

The City of Flin Flon is looking for a reliable Arena Operator to manage day‑to‑day operations at the Whitney Forum. This hands‑on position ensures the ice arena is clean, safe, and ready for events, rentals, and public use.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the ice resurfacing machine and oversee ice‑making processes.
• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of the facility and its equipment.
• Assist with set‑up and support for events, rentals, and community activities.
• Maintain safety standards and address any hazards promptly.
• Provide basic troubleshooting for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues.

Required profile

• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence.
• Grade 12 education or equivalent.
• Refrigeration Operator ticket or willingness to obtain one.
• Class 5 Power Engineer ticket or willingness to obtain one.
• Ability to work independently and interact positively with the public.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and occasional duties at other Parks & Recreation facilities.

Required skills

• Strong troubleshooting and general facility maintenance abilities.
