Apprentice Welder

About the role

Join Imperial Truck & Trailer Repair Ltd in Calgary as an Apprentice Welder. You will receive hands‑on training while supporting welding projects across various locations, working in noisy and confined environments.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret welding process specifications and blueprints.
• Operate manual, semi‑automatic and fully automated welding equipment.
• Examine welds to ensure they meet standards.
• Use brakes, shears and other metal shaping, straightening and bending machines.
• Fit, braze and torch‑straighten metal components.
• Determine weldability of different materials.
• Operate brazing and soldering machines for metal bonding.
• Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing and soldering equipment.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation certificate.
• 1–2 years of related experience.
• Physically demanding work; ability to lift up to 13.5 kg (30 lb).
• Excellent oral communication and attention to detail.
• Comfortable working in noisy, dirty and confined spaces.
