About the role
Amazon's Tax Engine organization is seeking a passionate leader to drive scientific innovation for global tax calculation. The team powers tax computation for every Amazon order, ensuring accurate sales tax and VAT handling across countries, states, and counties.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and mentor a talented team of senior Applied Scientists and Software Development Engineers.
- Improve processes and methodologies to enhance team deliverables.
- Balance experimentation with delivery to achieve sustained impact.
- Partner with stakeholders to define road‑maps for new tax‑related AI products and services.
Required profile
- 3+ years of experience managing scientists or machine‑learning engineers.
- Strong background in building machine‑learning models or algorithms for business applications.
- Experience communicating requirements and technical designs across teams.
Required skills
- Machine learning and deep learning.
- Natural language processing (NLP).
- Information retrieval and analytics.
- Software development for complex AI systems.
