About the role
The Animal Care Assistant (B-5) works on the McGill Campus dairy farm, providing hands‑on care for the cattle and supporting daily farm operations. This is a dynamic, physically demanding position that may involve tasks across different farm units.
Key responsibilities
- Feed the cattle according to schedule.
- Milk the cows and ensure proper handling of milk equipment.
- Clean and sweep enclosures, and brush the animals.
- Perform routine cleaning of barns and related facilities.
- Conduct educational visits for visitors.
- Assist the senior technician with any additional duties assigned.
- Occasionally work in other farm units and perform tasks not explicitly listed in the posting.
Required profile
- High School Diploma.
- At least one year of experience working on a dairy farm.
- Authorized to work in Canada and willing to work in Quebec.
- English communication level assessed at #2 on a 0‑4 scale.
