Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (Senior Apprentice)

About the role

This position supports the Maintenance Department in servicing, repairing and performing preventative maintenance on Latitude Air Ambulance’s growing fleet of aircraft. The role works primarily inside a modern hangar and reports to the Maintenance Lead.

Key responsibilities

• Read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins and approved documentation.
• Inspect and assess aircraft components and airframe, including engines, landing gear, flight controls, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Conduct operational tests of engines and aircraft systems.
• Troubleshoot structural, mechanical or hydraulic issues and perform repairs according to specifications.
• Install, modify, dismantle and re‑assemble aircraft engines and related systems.
• Maintain, track and plan routine maintenance using the computer system and coordinate daily planning.

Required skills

• Valid AME “M” Type licence (M1/M2) for small and large aircraft.
• Experience with Bombardier 1900D aircraft.
• Knowledge of aircraft systems: air‑conditioning, hydraulics, engines, flight controls, landing gear, avionics, electrical generation, oxygen, fuel and pneumatics.
• Avionics experience and Electronic Systems designation are assets.
• Understanding of aircraft structures.
