After School Program Mentor – Regal Road Public School

About the role

The BGC St. Alban's Club is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join its STARS After‑School program at Regal Road Public School. As a Program Mentor you will create a safe, supportive environment for children aged 4‑12, delivering education, recreation, arts, health and nutrition activities.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organize and lead group activities for children in a safe, enjoyable setting.
• Create and facilitate fun, inclusive, age‑appropriate activities covering sports, arts, health, and nutrition.
• Maintain equipment and supplies in safe working condition.
• Complete administrative tasks such as attendance tracking and headcounts.
• Ensure health and safety standards, including COVID‑19 protocols, are followed.
• Respond to conflicts and behavior issues using trained corrective techniques.
• Report to the Program Manager and follow directions from supervisors.
• Participate in staff training, orientation sessions, and occasional evening or PA‑day events.

Required profile

• Relevant educational background.
• Experience working with children aged 4‑12.
• Strong skills in one or more areas such as sports, arts, swimming, recreation, education, health or nutrition.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
• Good decision‑making and problem‑solving abilities.
• COVID‑19 vaccination, current Standard First Aid and CPR‑C certification.
• Successful police reference check and completion of HIGH FIVE – Principles of Healthy Child Development training.
