About the role

We are seeking an Advisor, Legal Counsel to support a leading data and analytics company. The role focuses on commercial contracting and privacy matters, providing strategic legal guidance to internal teams while working in a hybrid environment across Burlington or Toronto.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and applicable law.
• Advise business units on privacy regulations and data protection obligations.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to mitigate legal risks in product and service offerings.
• Monitor legislative changes affecting the data and analytics sector and update internal guidelines accordingly.
• Support dispute resolution and manage relationships with external counsel when needed.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in commercial contracting and privacy law.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a hybrid team.

Required skills

• Commercial contract drafting and negotiation.
• Knowledge of privacy legislation (e.g., PIPEDA, GDPR).
