About the role
As an Advisor, Academic‑Industry Partnerships (one‑year contract with potential for extension), you will contribute to the development of research and innovation partnerships across the Okanagan and Thompson‑Okanagan regions.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with post‑secondary institutions, industry, not‑for‑profit organisations and economic development bodies across the Okanagan region.
- Engage prospective partners to understand their research, innovation and talent needs and match them with appropriate Mitacs programs.
- Support partnerships from initial exploration through project and application development, coordinating with internal Mitacs teams.
- Represent Mitacs at regional meetings, events and sector‑focused forums, and deliver presentations and workshops.
Required profile
- Advanced degree or equivalent experience in research, innovation, partnership or economic development.
- Proven experience building relationships in academic, industry, government or not‑for‑profit environments.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with ability to manage multiple opportunities and work independently.
- Knowledge of post‑secondary research environments and ability to explain Mitacs program requirements.
