Adjunct Stage Manager

About the role

The Communications & Production unit at McGill University is seeking an Adjunct Stage Manager to support peak periods and special events. Working under the direction of a supervisor, you will ensure smooth backstage, stage, and front‑of‑house operations for music ensembles and other productions.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate backstage, stage, and front‑of‑house activities during events.
• Maintain accurate production logs and documentation.
• Monitor compliance with safety regulations and enforce protocols.
• Assist with set‑up and tear‑down of equipment for small and large music ensembles.

Required profile

• High school diploma with at least two years of related experience.
• Fluent in spoken and written English; French spoken and read is mandatory.
• Available to work flexible hours, including days, nights, and weekends.
• CPR and First Aid certified.

Required skills

• Operation of computerized lighting equipment.
• Operation of sound equipment.
• Advanced knowledge of audio/video software.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

What we offer

• Part‑time, flexible schedule (approximately 2 hours per week).
• Hourly wage of $18.00 (CAD) under the AMUSE collective agreement.
