About the role
The Communications & Production unit at McGill University is seeking an Adjunct Stage Manager to support peak periods and special events. Working under the direction of a supervisor, you will ensure smooth backstage, stage, and front‑of‑house operations for music ensembles and other productions.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate backstage, stage, and front‑of‑house activities during events.
- Maintain accurate production logs and documentation.
- Monitor compliance with safety regulations and enforce protocols.
- Assist with set‑up and tear‑down of equipment for small and large music ensembles.
Required profile
- High school diploma with at least two years of related experience.
- Fluent in spoken and written English; French spoken and read is mandatory.
- Available to work flexible hours, including days, nights, and weekends.
- CPR and First Aid certified.
Required skills
- Operation of computerized lighting equipment.
- Operation of sound equipment.
- Advanced knowledge of audio/video software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
What we offer
- Part‑time, flexible schedule (approximately 2 hours per week).
- Hourly wage of $18.00 (CAD) under the AMUSE collective agreement.
