Youth Worker

About the role

The Youth Worker will support the Dene Godhe Ala Youth Center in planning, delivering and promoting youth and recreation programs for the Cold Lake First Nations community. This role involves working both in an office setting and outdoors, collaborating with staff, volunteers and community partners.

Key responsibilities

• Help plan and carry out youth and recreation programs and events.
• Assist with setting up and organizing activities for participants.
• Support staff and volunteers during activities and chaperone youth/athletes.
• Coordinate programming with other departments and external groups.
• Assist with fundraising and advertising of programs and events.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Experience or strong interest in youth work, recreation, or physical education.
• Valid certification such as First Aid or a Coaching Certificate.
• General knowledge of youth programming policies and community involvement.
• Valid Alberta Class 3 or 5 driver’s licence and reliable vehicle.
• Ability to provide a Criminal Record Check and Child Welfare Check.
• Basic computer and office skills with good verbal communication.
• Creative, resourceful, and able to handle challenging situations.
