Workplace Investigator – Respectful Workplace

About the role

The Toronto Police Service is seeking a Workplace Investigator to join its Respectful Workplace unit. Reporting to the Manager, Respectful Workplace, you will lead investigations into harassment, discrimination and related workplace concerns, ensuring compliance with provincial legislation and internal policies.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate complex, multi‑tiered allegations of sexual harassment, bullying, reprisal and systemic discrimination under the Ontario Human Rights Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act and Police Services Act.
• Intake, triage and develop investigation plans; interview parties, gather evidence and produce detailed investigative reports.
• Collaborate with the Professional Standards Unit, co‑lead investigations and provide consultative advice.
• Maintain case data in Service case‑management systems, analyse trends and recommend policy updates.
• Manage third‑party investigations, coordinating with external consultants and public‑service agencies.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience conducting workplace investigations in a public‑sector or large‑organization environment.
• Strong knowledge of relevant legislation (Ontario Human Rights Code, OHSA, Police Services Act).
• Excellent analytical, report‑writing and communication skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain impartiality.
