Web Developer (PHP/WordPress)

About the role

We are looking for a talented PHP Web Developer to join our growing team at Blue Shark Design. The role offers the chance to work on a wide variety of projects in a modern office located just outside Newcastle city centre.

Key responsibilities

• Develop bespoke WordPress themes and plugins tailored to client requirements.
• Integrate third‑party services and data feeds using APIs.
• Write clean, maintainable code in PHP, HTML5, CSS and JavaScript.
• Produce responsive layouts that work across devices and browsers.
• Collaborate with designers, ensuring designs are implemented accurately using Adobe Photoshop assets.
• Maintain web standards and ensure cross‑browser compatibility.

Required profile

• Mid‑level to senior developer with a strong interest in technology trends.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Understanding of e‑commerce platforms and UX principles.

What we offer

• Salary ranging from £20,000 to £28,000 per year (depending on experience).
