Wastewater Treatment Operator – Class II, III & IV

About the role

The City of Windsor is seeking a dedicated Wastewater Treatment Operator to join its Pollution Control department. Working on a rotating three‑shift schedule, you will help ensure safe and efficient operation of the LRWRP and LRPCP treatment plants.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in operating plant controls and equipment on a three‑shift rotating or single‑shift basis.
• Perform preventative maintenance, cleaning, and housekeeping of all related equipment and facilities.
• Inspect, monitor, and adjust plant processes and equipment as needed.
• Record and input plant data into the record‑keeping system.
• Receive, log, and report public complaints.
• Conduct tests and analyses to monitor sewage treatment processes.
• Start, stop, adjust, and control plant equipment via relays, switches, or an Operator Interface Terminal.
• Support other Environmental Services divisions and adhere to occupational health and safety procedures.

Required profile

• Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma.

Required skills

• Operation of plant control systems.
• Use of Operator Interface Terminal.
• Knowledge of relays and switches for equipment control.
• Preventative maintenance of wastewater treatment equipment.
