Visiting Professor or Instructor in Computing (2-year contract)

About the role

The College of Information Science & Technology at the University of Nebraska at Omaha is hiring two-year visiting faculty at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor or Visiting Instructor. Appointments begin in August 2023 and support undergraduate and graduate curricula in Computer Science, Cybersecurity and Management Information Systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in computing disciplines.
• Mentor students and contribute to curriculum design.
• Participate in departmental service and outreach activities.
• For Visiting Assistant Professor rank, maintain an active research agenda and prepare a research statement.

Required profile

• Earned master’s degree in a computing-related field (for Visiting Instructor).
• Earned doctorate or ABD status for Visiting Assistant Professor rank.
• Demonstrated passion for student-centered teaching and commitment to broadening participation in computing.
• Ability to teach courses in software engineering, database systems, human-centered computing, cybersecurity, or technical project management.
