Vice President of Engineering

About the role

Rewind is looking for a Vice President of Engineering to own the full R&D function—including engineering, cloud infrastructure, security, and customer support—reporting directly to the CEO. This senior technical leader will shape the technology vision, drive the enterprise‑readiness transition, and champion AI‑driven engineering across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute a unified technology vision that positions Rewind as the market leader in SaaS backup and recovery.
• Lead the enterprise‑readiness roadmap (SSO, compliance, audit logging, enterprise SLAs) and align engineering, cloud ops, security, and support.
• Own the technology budget, making ROI‑based decisions on tooling, vendors, and infrastructure.
• Represent engineering in board and investor meetings, contributing to annual planning and strategic prioritization.
• Build, grow, and reset high‑performing multidisciplinary teams while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous learning.
• Drive AI adoption across the engineering organization, establishing AI‑native workflows that improve quality and velocity.

Required profile

• 15+ years in technology leadership, with at least 8 years at senior level owning engineering or technical operations.
• Proven track record scaling engineering and support teams in a high‑growth B2B SaaS environment.
• Experience leading a SaaS product through an enterprise‑readiness transition, including security and compliance at scale.
• Strong communication skills, able to align technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
