About the role

The Vice President, Communications and Corporate Affairs will partner with senior leadership to shape and execute a clear, consistent communication strategy for a national retailer undergoing transformation. This senior leader will ensure messaging aligns with business objectives, supports risk management, and engages employees, customers, and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Define and champion messaging that reflects the organization’s priorities across a complex, multi‑stakeholder environment.
• Align internal and external communications to support business goals and mitigate risk.
• Build strong relationships with senior leaders and functional teams to ensure consistent communication flow.
• Lead, develop, and evolve a high‑performing communications team.
• Navigate ambiguity, provide calm leadership in high‑pressure situations, and balance strategic thinking with hands‑on execution.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in communications leadership within a large, publicly traded or complex organization.
• Exceptional writing and storytelling ability, capable of distilling nuanced issues into clear, compelling messages.
• Highly collaborative, relationship‑oriented, and able to earn trust quickly with senior stakeholders.
• Comfortable operating in fast‑paced, ambiguous environments and delivering results under pressure.
• Bilingualism (English/French) is a strong asset.

Required skills

• Advanced written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Fluency in French (preferred).
