USMLE Step 1 Tutor

About the role

Join the Varsity Tutors Live Learning Platform as an online USMLE Step 1 Tutor. You will work remotely, setting your own schedule while helping medical students master the foundational sciences and clinical reasoning needed for the Step 1 exam.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver one‑on‑one and on‑demand tutoring sessions via the platform’s Live Learning interface.
• Explain complex concepts in biochemistry, pharmacology, pathology, physiology, microbiology, immunology, anatomy, histology, behavioral sciences, and biostatistics.
• Guide students in using First Aid, Pathoma, and UWorld question banks, applying spaced‑repetition and targeted review strategies.
• Utilize the AI‑powered Tutor Copilot to generate lesson plans, real‑time instructional support, and engagement tools.
• Invoice for completed sessions and receive payment up to twice per week.

Required profile

• Deep mastery of USMLE Step 1 content and the ability to integrate basic science with clinical scenarios.
• Proven experience teaching medical students or similar audiences.
• Strong communication skills and an engaging, friendly teaching style.
• Flexibility to adapt instruction to diverse learning styles.
