User Support Technician – IT Help Desk

About the role

We are looking for a User Support Technician to join our IT team in Langley, BC. The role involves providing first‑line assistance to employees, maintaining network and system performance, and ensuring smooth operation of hardware and software resources.

Key responsibilities

• Grant users access to computer networks and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
• Monitor and report on the performance of computer systems and networks.
• Respond to user‑reported problems, consult technical manuals, and implement solutions.
• Maintain a log of problems and solutions for the support team.
• Set up workstations, install operating systems, cables, and required software.
• Perform web‑server backup and recovery operations.
• Manage incidents and participate in application redesign projects.

Required profile

• College or CEGEP diploma (1‑2 years) in a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in technical support or help‑desk environments.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and handle repetitive tasks.
• Strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and a team‑oriented attitude.

Required skills

• Python, C#.NET development.
• Microsoft Windows, MS Office, MS Active Directory, SharePoint.
• Networking concepts: TCP/IP, wireless networks, networking hardware and software.
• Security software and networking security.
• Computer‑aided design (CAD) and 3D modeling tools.
