Truck Driver – Long‑haul & International

About the role

We are seeking a professional truck driver to operate straight or articulated trucks on local, long‑haul and cross‑border routes. The role involves transporting goods safely, handling required documentation, and delivering excellent customer service while minimizing fuel consumption and emissions.

Key responsibilities

• Calculate repair costs and order parts when necessary.
• Plan and adjust routes using GPS and other navigation tools to reduce fuel use and carbon emissions.
• Address customer complaints and provide courteous service.
• Arrange travel itineraries and make reservations for the convoy.
• Drive as part of a two‑person team or convoy, loading and unloading goods.
• Obtain special permits and documents for international cargo.
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks, overseeing vehicle condition, tires, lights, brakes, and cold‑storage equipment.
• Perform brake adjustments, emergency roadside repairs, and preventive maintenance.
• Conduct pre‑trip, en‑route, and post‑trip inspections and complete related reports.
• Record cargo details, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption.
• Tarp and secure cargo, including dangerous goods, ensuring safety and security.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation certificate.
• Valid AZ class driver’s licence.
• Willingness to travel cross‑border and handle frequent travel.
• Ability to manage physically demanding tasks and lift up to 13.5 kg (30 lb).
• Strong attention to detail and reliable judgment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Required skills

• Cargo tarping and securing, including handling dangerous goods.
