About the role
We are looking for a reliable truck driver to join ROADIES SHUNT SERVICES LTD. in Mississauga. The role involves transporting goods safely while optimizing routes and complying with regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and adjust routes using computer equipment and GPS to reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
- Load, unload, and secure cargo, including tarping and ensuring safety.
- Obtain required permits and documentation for international shipments.
- Operate straight and articulated trucks, performing pre‑trip, en‑route, and post‑trip inspections.
- Monitor vehicle condition, inspect tires, lights, brakes, and cold‑storage equipment, and perform brake adjustments.
- Record cargo details, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel usage, and communicate with central dispatch.
Required profile
- Secondary school graduation certificate.
- 1–2 years of truck driving experience.
- Valid AZ class licence with Air Brakes Endorsement.
Required skills
- Proficiency with GPS navigation and other routing software.
- Ability to operate air‑brake systems safely.
