About the role
The Analyst, Treasury supports the execution and control of a broad range of Treasury activities, contributing to daily cash and liquidity management, investment and funding operations, and regulatory reporting for the Bank.
Key responsibilities
- Support the Bank’s daily cash and liquidity management, including short‑term liquidity planning and investment recommendations.
- Execute daily investment and funding activities in accordance with policies and limits, monitoring cash flows, settlements and liquidity requirements.
- Manage day‑to‑day cash and investment operations with stakeholders to keep the Bank within risk limits.
- Perform daily Guaranteed Investment Certificate operational activities, including origination monitoring, pricing updates, journal entries, and month‑end/quarter‑end processes.
- Reconcile and book month‑end and quarter‑end entries and promptly resolve differences.
- Support nominee broker deposit issuances and related operational processes, providing prompt service.
- Prepare, reconcile and enhance recurring regulatory reporting to maintain accurate records.
- Maintain effective controls and contribute to resilient Treasury operations.
- Identify, recommend and implement process improvements that simplify operations and improve quality, efficiency and reliability.
- Provide back‑up coverage for Treasury processes performed by other team members.
- Complete ad‑hoc analyses and support Treasury initiatives as required.
Required profile
- Undergraduate degree in business, finance, economics, mathematics or another relevant discipline.
- Relevant experience in banking, treasury, finance operations, accounting or a comparable quantitative environment.
- Knowledge of banking products, including loans and deposits, and understanding of their impact on a financial institution’s balance sheet.
- Working knowledge of cash management, investment operations, reconciliations and financial controls.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with ability to operate effectively in a fast‑moving quantitative environment.
- Strong attention to detail, personal accountability and ability to work independently.
- Ability to review, simplify and improve operational processes.
- Strong collaboration and relationship‑management skills with internal and external partners.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including ability to distill analysis into actionable findings.
- Experience in an institution regulated by the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI) is an asset.
- Experience with funding, trading, liquidity risk management, market risk management or fixed‑income valuation and pricing is an asset.
Required skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel for reconciliations and financial data analysis.
- Proficiency with data‑query tools such as SQL or SAS.
- Experience with Bloomberg (asset).
- Familiarity with CANNEX (asset).
- Knowledge of Portfolio+ (asset).
