Transport Truck Mechanic – Full‑time Permanent Position

About the role

The Transport Truck Mechanic will work in a busy workshop environment, diagnosing and repairing commercial truck systems. The role involves hands‑on troubleshooting, parts replacement, and ensuring vehicles meet safety standards before returning to service.

Key responsibilities

• Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems.
• Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions, including motor operation and road testing.
• Review work orders, estimate parts and labour costs, and advise customers on repairs and future maintenance.
• Coach and instruct apprentices on proper repair techniques.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs and communicate findings with supervisors.

Required profile

• Registered Apprenticeship certificate or equivalent automotive trade certification.
• Minimum 5 years of experience repairing commercial trucks.
• Red Seal endorsements for Truck and Transport Mechanic and Truck‑Trailer Repairer.
• Valid driver’s licence and ability to pass criminal and driving record checks.
• Attention to detail, reliability, and strong teamwork skills.
